This policy explains what this app collects, why, and who it is shared with. It applies only to the app named above. Other apps by the same developer have their own policies.
This app is published by Kunliang Wu ("we", "us"), Victoria, Australia. Contact: [email protected].
This app is an unofficial, fan-made companion app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Adult Swim, Warner Bros. Discovery, or the creators of the animated series.
Much of what a free app usually collects simply is not present here. This app contains:
The app also requests no system permissions: no camera, no photo library, no location, no microphone, no contacts, no calendar.
Because the app is a paid download, Apple or Google process the payment. We never see your Apple ID, Google account, name, email address or payment details.
These are kept in the app's own storage on your device. We have no copy of any of it:
If you delete the app, this data is permanently gone — we cannot restore it, because we never had it.
Character, location and episode pages each carry a discussion where you can post a comment. Everything posted there is public — every other person using the app can read it. Please do not put anything private in a comment.
There is no registration and no sign-in. We never ask for, and never receive, an email address, a phone number or a real name.
Reading a discussion creates nothing. If you only read, no identity is created and no record about you is stored. An anonymous identity is created only at the moment you post your first comment, and it is stored on your device from then on so that your later comments are grouped under the same name.
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| The comment itself | The text you typed, and which character, location or episode page it belongs to |
| A display nickname | Generated for you in the form Guest_4821, or one you choose yourself. It is
shown publicly next to your comment. |
| A timestamp | When the comment was posted, and when it was last edited |
| An anonymous identifier | A random value created when your anonymous identity is first set up. It is not derived from your device, your phone number, your accounts or anything else about you. Its only jobs are to keep your own comments grouped together and to let us block an abusive poster. |
| A daily view count per page | When a discussion is opened we add one to a counter for that page for that day. It is a single number per page per day and is not linked to you, your identifier or your device. |
The discussion database has no column for any of the following, so there is nothing to store them in: email address, phone number, real name, IP address, location, contacts, device model or advertising identifier.
One honest caveat about IP addresses: the discussion service is hosted on Cloudflare, and like every web server on the internet Cloudflare handles the IP address your connection comes from in order to deliver the response. We do not write it into our own records and we cannot look it up against a comment. Cloudflare's handling of it is governed by its own privacy policy.
Comments are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database whose region is Oceania (Australia).
Email [email protected] and say which comment you want removed. A removed comment stops being shown to anyone in the app. We keep the underlying record out of public view rather than erasing it outright, so that a removal made in error can be undone; it is not displayed to anyone again.
Note that your anonymous identity lives on your device. If you delete and reinstall the app you get a new identity, and comments you posted before remain in the discussion under the old nickname. We have no way to reconnect them to you, so if you want them removed, email us and tell us which ones.
The app fetches its reference data and images from services we do not run. When that content loads, those services receive your IP address and standard request information directly, under their own privacy policies. We do not send them anything about you.
rickandmortyapi.com) — a free public
REST API that supplies most character, episode and location data and imagesstatic.wikia.nocookie.net) — images for the
later characters and episodes that the API above does not coverLinks in the About screen open in your browser or in the App Store / Google Play app. Once you leave, that destination's own policy applies.
This app is a general-audience reference app about an animated television series. As of the date of this policy it is rated 4+ on the App Store and Everyone, with the Users Interact label, on Google Play.
It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not ask for anyone's age and we have no way to verify it.
The discussion is open and public, and comments are written by other people. Parents should be aware that, as with any open discussion, content posted by others may appear before it is reported and reviewed.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through this app, contact us at [email protected] and we will remove it.
The app is a paid download, and buying it may require a parent's approval depending on your device settings. The app does not attempt to bypass that approval.
To ask about data held about you, or to request its deletion, email [email protected].
The discussion database region is Oceania (Australia), but Cloudflare operates a global network and serves your request from the location nearest you. The other services listed above operate globally, so information may be processed outside the country you live in, including in the United States.
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
